Flying

Dear Prospective Pilot:

Before you start down the path to becoming a pilot, I'd like to make a couple of points:

  • If it looks a lor easier than it is, it is because subtleties are usually hidden from the layman's POV.
  • If someone tells you it'll be 4 weeks for you to get your private pilot license, it is doable.  But just like in cooking, a well marinated food takes time and is (or can be) a delicacy.  Something done in a rushed and off-hand way, rarely is.  Time is NOT what should drive the effort, - the safe and successful outcome is.
  • Learing to fly is a real committment!
  • It is expensive!
  • And it won't get cheaper
  • It will take time away from your family and friends (unless they already fly :) ), if you intend to do it well.
  • Once licensed, you will need to keep up the skill!

But ..... flying is still absolutely miraculous!
